Wednesday, July 8th, 2015
Amanda Crocker has joined the Partners in Education Foundation as the new ArtWorks Program Director. Crocker succeeds Kristin Watson, who has retired after eight years running the program.
Crocker was born in Santa Fe and raised between here and Los Angeles, CA. She is a graduate of the University of New Mexico with a double major in Anthropology and Spanish. Prior to accepting the position as ArtWorks Program Director, Crocker worked as Director of Programs and Marketing at El Rancho de las Golondrinas living history museum for 11 years. There, she coordinated 11 public events per year, and handled all the advertising and media relations. Other non-profit experience includes six years at Cornerstones Community Partnerships, a community-based historic preservation organization also in Santa Fe.
Created in 2001, ArtWorks is an aesthetic education program for public school students that pairs artists with teachers and offers students live experiences with works of art – artist-led tours of museum exhibits and performances by some of Santa Fe’s finest performing arts organizations. Last year, ArtWorks provided programming to approximately 80 teachers and 1,900 students in the Santa Fe Public Schools.
